I can’t wait for May 2010! The 10th installment of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series will be coming out by then!
I don’t get to watch the TV adaptation anymore, but I was am a big fan of the books. It’s been almost a year since “Dead and Gone” came out. I want to read the next story already!

I honestly don’t know anything about this series. I remember my friend Cha getting hooked on the TV adaptation so I downloaded them, and then my friend Nikki told me that it’s a book so I downloaded it as well.
So, a little background from Wikipedia:
The Vampire Diaries is a young adult vampire horror series of novels written by L. J. Smith. The story centers around Elena Gilbert, a high school girl torn between two vampire brothers. The series was originally a trilogy published in 1991; however, pressure from readers led the author to write a fourth volume, Dark Reunion, which was released the following year. After taking a hiatus from writing for several years, L. J. Smith announced in 1998 a new spin-off trilogy entitled The Vampire Diaries: The Return, continuing the series, with Damon as the main protagonist. The first installment, The Return: Nightfall, was released on February 10, 2009. The Return: Shadow Souls and The Return: Midnight are tentatively slated for release in April, 2010 and 2011 respectively.
The Vampire Diaries has been adapted into a television series which premiered on September 10, 2009 on The CW.

A few weeks ago, a friend encouraged me to read the Percy Jackson series. I was a bit bored, and was definitely curious after seeing the trailer (yes, it’s another movie adaptation) so there I go asking my friends for an ebook copy of the series. (Read on and I’m sharing the links in the end. 
)
The series is composed of 5 books starting with “The Lightning Thief” which is now, I think, a blockbuster hit. The story revolves around the boy Percy Jackson who finds out he is the son of the Sea God Poseidon and that the Greek myths he learned at school were all true! And since I’m too lazy to elaborate, here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia:
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a series of adventure and fantasy books authored by Rick Riordan. Set in the United States, the books are predominantly based on Greek mythology. The series consists of five books, as well as spin-off titles such as The Demigod Files and Demigods and Monsters. The Lightning Thief, the first book, is the basis of a film called Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which was released in the United States on February 12, 2010.
The protagonist is Percy Jackson, who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea and earthquakes. He learns that the legendary beings of Greek mythology still exist and have always existed, including monsters, cyclopes, empousai, Titans, and also the Olympians (Greek gods) themselves who dwell in Olympus which is now situated at the mythical 600th floor of the Empire State Building. He is frequently attacked by monsters because he is a child of one of the "Big Three" (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). Percy meets many other young demigods, both friendly and hostile, who are also in the process of discovering their heritage and powers.Personally, I thought it was another Harry Potter rip off, but I was still hooked. The plot was interesting though it was quite predictable, and I relearned my Greek mythology in the process.
I also saw the movie last night with my friend Frank. It was quite different from the book and while I enjoyed watching, I’m not quite sure if I like the changes. Somehow the screenplay implies that there won’t be any sequels to it. So, mixed feelings. 
The guy who played Percy is cute though, he kinda looks like Zac Efron. LOL. READ MOVIE REVIEW HERE.

I totally blame John Lloyd’s “In My Life” movie for this sudden craze. When I saw the trailer for “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” I immediately searched for the ebook online, and now I’m hooked. To hell with New Moon [LOL], I can’t wait to see this movie! Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana FTW
